Memory Garden

Platforms: Meta Ray Ban Glasses

Team Size: 5

Dates: Dec 2025

Memory Garden is a project developed by me and a small teams of developers and designers. The application was implemented at the SensAI hackathon and has the main objective of aiding Alzheimer's patients in relieving past memories with an inventory of items important to the patient’s lives.

Memory Garden implements five unique serializable items, each with their own image, models, an image of the patient with the object in question, and a small story narrating the user’s connection with such item. These objects are then displayed in a small area in front of the user. The experience was developed for the Meta Ray Ban AI Glasses in an attempt to prepare for a future technology that is more easily accessible than VR displays.

An important part of the development of Memory Garden was to implement a OpenAI TTS agent that answers user’s questions regarding the item they are holding and making sure this system only answers accurate information to the patient. Hand Tracking Integration was also crucial, as the Meta Ray Ban AI glasses only allow a certain collection of inputs that have to be employed within each menu of the experience.

Memory Garden taught me how to work within tight time constraints, providing a full working demo with only 48 hours of development. During those two days, communication and cooperation with team members and precise version control was essential for the success of the experience.

The project unique philosophy and the seamless integration of a new technology led to a nomination for the SensAI Hackathon XR category.
