NailsToGo is a project designed to solve a real life problem - enabling users to preview nail polish colors and patterns without the need of applying or buying a bottle.

The core point of this project is the implementation of a vision-based image target tracking system using the Vuforia Engine. Using a small identifier (such as a QR code), NailsToGo projects realistic, virtual 3D overlays in real time.

In order to give more options for the user, I engineered a complex and dynamic material update system based on user input; the user can select more than 15 unique options with realistic lighting and accurate hand positioning.

One of the future goals for this project is to eliminate the dependency on static markers and implement nail-specific object detection, enabling automatic scaling for a wider range of hand sizes and shapes.
