Temikki Garden

Platforms: Android

Team Size: 8+

Dates: January - August 2025

Temikki Garden is an application designed to bring joy and hope to young children in long hospital stays. I inherited the project 8 months before its completion and led development activities that greatly improved its performance, user experience, and data collection.

When I joined, the game was running at a low ~12 FPS. To combat this issue, I implemented LOD Optimization (AutoLOD) , Impostor rendering (Mirage), class and assets optimizations, and refined build settings. These acts greatly increased performance to a stable 28–30 FPS, even in demanding scenarios like the AR mode and saving/loading situations.

I also architeched a fully encrypted data persistence Save/Load system to ensure tracking and restoration of 30+ inventory items, ensuring reliability and data integrity across sections. For the UI side, I integrated Figma-designed assets into the Unity engine, building brand new front-end interfaces for all areas and menus of the project.

Finally, I created a Check-In system that records precious patients’ medical progress, leveraging dictionary-based data structures to integrate information from multiple gameplay sections and provide crucial information to healthcare providers responsible for the patients.

The project’s impact and quality led to a nomination for the Auggie Awards, one of the most prestigious recognitions in the XR industry.
